CLIENT: NHS North East London
SECTOR: Healthcare
SCOPE: NHS Website design & development | Migration | Maintenance | Hosting
New NHS website design, development, and support were commissioned for NHS North East London which serves over two million people across eight local authority areas. They ensure the local population is healthy and thriving, with good levels of mental wellbeing, and good access to high-quality health and care services.
The previous provider for digital services to the NHS NEL Clinical Commissioning was no longer in a position to offer the services required. As a result, they were seeking to procure the services of an NHS web design agency, and UK Government Digital Outcomes 6 framework supplier to continue the support.
NHS NEL was also in the process of transitioning the name of their statutory organisations to an Integrated Care Board / Integrated Care System, which meant making our NHS graphic design skills would be used in making changes to the branding and domains for some of their digital properties, as well as continuing their long-term aim to streamline the number of digital properties they manage. In turn, making them more focused on the audiences they need to serve.
NHS NEL awarded GWCM, an NHS design agency contract after a competitive tender bid based on our extensive WordPress and public sector expertise. The work involved migrating two WordPress sites to a new hosting platform, rebuilding one site from Sitekit into WordPress, and then integrating two microsites into the main website.
Following the successful migration and implementation of each site, GWCM now maintains and provide support to an NHS comms team of 20+ people, and manages the content, keeping the WordPress and plugins up to date and making sure all parts of the local health system work effectively together.
