The government has now removed domestic restrictions in England, but Coronavirus is still with us. As a specialist healthcare communications agency during the height of the pandemic we were called upon to help communicate steps we can all take to reduce the risk of catching and spreading COVID-19. The message now is more about enabling people to manage the risks to themselves and help others.
With first dose vaccination uptake running at over 80%, and second dose close to 77% Northamptonshire Councils appreciate that there is still plenty of public uncertainty around correct practice in response to the virus. GWCM were approached to help, develop a broad outbreak marketing campaign of communications including adverts, social media video animations, outdoor media, leaflets, and digital signage outlining advisory guidance on how Northamptonshire residents can manage the risks and the simple actions we can all take to help lower future risk of infection.
Our Covid-19 pandemic marketing used a simple, illustrative style that is easy to comprehend, even if English is not the first language of the reader. Our work has supported other Councils in Derby, Birmingham and Cheshire surrounding the UK Government's advice throughout all phases, and more recent guidance as the country learns to live with the virus.
